Over the years, I have gotten very used to having two monitors. I even got my wife addicted to two monitors. Recently, I added a 3rd monitor and may never go back to two. So when I saw this article on the New Windows 10X feature for split screen devices, I had to stop and pay attention.
Samsung and Google have been working together to create an OS that supports Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip. An additional operating system that specifically supports split screen devices is welcome news. It’s a good sign that Microsoft is throwing their hat in the ring by tweaking an already familiar OS.
Obviously, it is early on in development but still a good indicator that split screen devices will be able to make the jump from an expensive early adopter gadget to a widely accepted tablet alternative.
As more and more people have come to rely on multiple screens for their desktops and laptops, it stands to reason that acceptance of the feature on handheld devices will follow the same trend. And I for one, can’t wait.
